1. Rainfall is best natural cleanser 2. Water flush when rainfall is scarce 3. For light soil: Sponge mop with 5% solution of low sudsing household detergent in hot water, followed by hot water rinse |
| Heavy Soiling |
1. Follow light soiling procedure first 2. Then sponge mop with 3% solution of household ammonia in hot water 3. Rinse thoroughly with hot water |
| Waterborne Stains (Tea, vegetables, butter, cola, ice cream, glue, urine) |
1. Simple Green bio-friendly cleaner (follow manufacturer's instructions) 2. OR use 1 teaspoon mild detergent in 1 pint of water 3. OR 3% solution of household ammonia for stubborn stains |
| Oil-based Stains (Asphalt, tar, cooking oil, motor oil, shoe polish, lipstick, etc.) |
Use sparingly: 1. Mineral spirits 2. OR perchlorethylene (dry cleaning solution) Note: Use in well-ventilated area; flammable materials |
| Animal Waste |
1. Allow waste to dry and dispose 2. Use Simple Green or Pro-vet-logic (pet safe) 3. Consider enzyme neutralizers for odor control 4. Mix equal parts white distilled vinegar and water |
| Mineral Deposits |
1. Mix equal parts white distilled vinegar and water 2. Lightly brush 3. Flush thoroughly with water |
| Chewing Gum/Tree Sap |
1. Use dry cleaning fluid 2. OR freeze with refrigerant/dry ice and scrape with knife |
| Fungus/Mold Spots |
1. Apply 1% solution of hydrogen peroxide in water 2. Flush thoroughly with clean water |

• Do not use cleaners with chlorine bleaches or caustic cleaners (pH above 9)
• Avoid highly acidic cleaners (pH below 5)
• Do not use high-pressure water spray exceeding 300 psi
• Always rinse thoroughly with clean water after cleaning
